What people say about Rūta (LT)
"Educational and fun trip"
We had such a great trip traveling from Vilnius to Riga with Ruta. First, she played great music. Second, she provided us with a lot of information about each place we stopped. She was flexible with how long we stayed places and with when we stopped. Our lunch stop was a highlight with delicious food. If you’re looking for a way to get between Riga and Vilnius and to sightsee along the way, you should book this tour!
"Efficient use of time from Riga to Vilnius"
Anyone planning one way trip from Riga to Vilnius should consider Traveller Tour. This was very efficient way to see places of interest such as Savaspils and Rudale Palace in Latvia, as well as the Hill of crosses and Kauna in Lithuania. We had enough time in every place to see it reasonably well. Other platforms did not offer/ did not include all these places, hence I have chosen the Traveller Tour. In addition, we had an excellent and very enthusiastic guide and driver, Ruta. She is very knowledgeable and passionate to present the Baltic countries to us tourists. Thank you Ruta.
"Great tour through the Baltics!"
My wife and I booked a private tour with Ruta and had an amazing time. Very knowledgeable and personable. She did a great job making sure we had a smooth and memorable experience.
"Great one-way tour from Riga to Vilnius"
I travelled with a friend and we enjoyed every moment of this small group day-long tour. The tour was relaxing, the stops were very interesting and educational. Ruta (LT) was a great guide. I highly recommend this tour.
"Incredible experience with Rūta to Riga"
Our experience with Rūta from Vilnius to Riga was fantastic. She is so knowledgeable and passionate that made the trip and every stop a great experience. She was always ensuring that we had all of our needs satisfied. She even managed to stop to be able to see the solar eclipse. Also the van and driving were perfect. Totally recommended.
"From Vilnius to Riga tour"
The tour program were very good 👍👍 fit properly to the time Car was comfortable and cleaned Tour guide very good, friendly, kind and lovely Sooo impressive trip 😍😍
"easy & comfortable way to travel between the Baltic capital"
Rūta was a personable & knowledgeable guide. We enjoyed the insightful descriptions of the landscape & historical sites along the way. A few days earlier, we also took the trip from Tallin to Riga with Kullo which was also an excellent experience. We visited in May & it was a nice bonus to see the storks taking care of their large nests. Highly recommend for the variety & ease of travel as a way to see the countyside between the Baltic capitals.
"Great way to get out if the main cities"
We really enjoyed our time with Ruta. She was very accommodating of our family with a young child. We loved that we stopped at 4 places. This was a great way to see some of the places that are not as accessible from the main cities without a driver. It really makes the most of the trip between cities that would otherwise have been wasted time on our short trip.
"An ideal tour for sightseeing while on the move"
Despite the bad weather, our guide took our preferences into account and skillfully adjusted the pace of the tour—spending more time where appropriate and skipping certain parts when needed. We were able to learn about Lithuania’s history as well as the deep sense of love its people have for their country, making it a very meaningful experience.
"Wonderful Midsummer excursion"
We had the first tour for Traveller Tours for the season due to coronavirus, and it was wonderful. Because no one else had booked we ended up with a private tour and had Ruta as our guide. She was a smart and kind guide and very patient with our 1 and 3 year olds. She was also proud to be Lithuanian and that was fun to see the Baltic pride and learn from a local. We loved the sights included in the Riga-Vilnius tour and thought the country side of both countries was stunning: lush, green, and in full bloom at this time of year. We were lucky to be ok to travel here from Helsinki and recommend seeing these underrated countries with this excellent tour.
"Best way to travel between baltic countries"
Great tour, made even more special by Ruta. Saw some great places I would not have seen otherwise. An a very tasty stop for lunch.
"Informative and fun tour"
It is really great time joining the tour by learning a lot inside political and history stories we can not learn from other places. Ruta, she is a great guide speaks perfect English and very nice girl. We have fun even though it is a long driving while touring on the way from Vilnius to Riga. It is very impressive experiene joining the tour.
"Fascinating history"
I really enjoyed the tour. Ruta gave interesting and passionate backgrounds and histories of both Lithuania and Latvia. Lunch was wonderful and pickup/drop off went as planned. I HIGHLY recommend this affordable trip. It was great to see the countryside. Hill of Crosses was amazing!
"Ruta was Great!"
We enjoyed Ruta's tour. Ruta was energetic, informative, & accommodating. Thanks for a fun day! We would suggest paying to go in the Rundale Palace Royal Rooms.
"Wonderful experience"
Had a wonderful guide take us around Lithuania and Latvia. Really enjoyed all of the stops and the in depth info from the guide. 10/10 would recommend if you're staying in the area for a few days.
"Excellent tour"
I had a great time. The tour included some of the most significant places in Latvia and Lithuania and I really enjoyed learning about the history of the places and their importance. The tour guide provided us with enough information to appreciate all the places we visited.
"We love Ruta! "
Ruta was a fantastic driver and guide! This is Great value!
"Very good swift day trip to get to Latvia "
Lovely enthusiastic tour guide led us with concise info at each stop with enough time to explore
"Fun and educational trip!"
Riga to Vilnuis
"Great tourbus"
We travelled between Lithuania and Latvia and it was fantastic. Breaks every hour or so and loads of great things to see and do. there were 10 of us so it was a very friendly feeling. A really great idea....
"Excellent tour"
Loved every minute of this tour. It’s a long day but worth it. Our guide Ruta was brilliant. Great knowledge and answered all our questions. She also took care of all our needs - comfort stops, lunch stop and coffee stop. We visited all the places listed and our guide gave information at each point. It’s also a great way to meet fellow travelers we had representatives from Thailand, Hong Kong, Brazil, Mexico and ourselves from Ireland. Ruta was a great driver and we could judge this as we rode up front. Very calm and safe. If you are considering this method of travel go for it you won’t regret it.
"Great tour, fabulous guide"
My girlfriend and I took the Traveller Tours trip from Vilnius to Riga last week. It was a minibus of up to 8 and we were a full complement. The minibus and driver/guide arrived at the designated collection point early and introduced herself to us all and made us very welcome. It was clear from the outset our guide, Ruta, was enthused and full of passion. She spoke with great enthusiasm and exceptional knowledge about her country’s history - you certainly would not have thought that English wasn’t her first language her description being in great detail. All in all a great way to travel between these beautiful cities and to gain an appreciation of their history as well as to visit several interesting places en route. Would thoroughly recommend.
"Best way to travel from Vilnius to Riga"
The sightseeing bus from Vilnius to Riga is amazing, there is no better way to travel between the two. Interesting stops along the way make the long distance seem short. A big thank you to our guide for making it interesting and to all my new friends for the memories and laughs I had along the way.
"A great way to travel from Vilnius to Riga"
We really enjoyed the tour and many thanks to Ruta, our guide. She was very knowledgeable and is clearly very proud of her country, culture and heritage. It was a pity that it was getting dark by the time we arrived at the Salaspils Memorial, we would have loved to have seen more of it. A great day, and definitely recommended. Thank you.
"Great tour by a very knowledgeable guide"
This tour is the best way to travel from Riga to Vilnuis. Ruta our driver/guide was so knowledgeable and in the nicest way she took us to places where we would have had to organise a day tour from one or the other of the cities. We and five others were taken to Salaspils, the Hill of Crosses, Rundale Palace etc. We enjoyed a nice lunch and the good company of people from other parts of the world and I would highly recommend travelling with this company. This was the 2nd tour we have done with Traveller Tours and I wish they had tours going into Poland. Much better than trains.
"Incredible tour with an incredible guide!"
We were lucky enough to have Ruta as our tour guide for this trip. So not only did we go to some breathtaking places and intriguing historical monuments and museums, but we also got an incredibly knowledgeable and passionate tour guide too! The places we went were stunning, particularly as it was in the height of autumn yet with blue skies and sunny weather. The Hill of Crosses and Salaspils were particular highlights of mine due to their rich history, which Ruta was an expert on! Thank you for such a great experience.
"Great day on the Riga - Vilnius tour with Ruta"
Really enjoyed this trip with our great guide Ruta. She made lots of effort to make the tour fun, whilst providing lots of interesting information along the way. Each stop Ruta gave us the key information and then enough time to explore by ourselves, unlike other tours when you feel like you're at each location far too long. Would highly recommend this if you are travelling between Riga and Vilnius.
"Awesome trip"
Ruta was a great guide and told us about the history and the relevance of the app the places. She is very knowledgeable
"Great trip"
Great trip, good itinerary. Guide was knowledgeable and personable and included personal experiences as well. Flexible and nice break for lunch. Perfect way to move easily between Riga and Vilnius.
"Great idea for travelling between Baltic capitals"
my one hesitation was the video with young backpackers running around looking like extras from the Sound of Music. In the end the eight people on the tour were of all ages.
"Excellent"
Great way to transfer from Vilnius to Riga
"Vilnius to Riga"
We had a wonderful tour with Rūta. Not only was she knowledgeable about Lithuanian and Latvian history, but very passionate about Lithuanian / Latvian people and history. Her passion made the tour feel personal and I know we will always remember what we learned on our drive from Vilnius to Riga.
"Excellent day from Riga to Vilnius!"
It was a great day driving with Ruta. She was a excellent guide as she shared all her knowledge and passion for Lithuania. I have a Lithuanian background but I learned so much from her. We could tell she spent countless hours learning the history of the Baltics. The spots we stopped along the way were breathtaking and some solemn but that is due to the history of the Baltics. I felt we had enough time at each stop. The lunch was amazing with the choice of venison entrees. It was old school Lithuanian home cooking...The tour was absolutely worth the price and more. Ačiū!!!
"A Perfect Day"
Rita was absolutely wonderful!! From the meeting point on throughout the day, she was engaged and offering historical information to us. It was a varied group and she keep us all interested and focused. I would highly recommend her and this tour!!
"Historic journey with a great group of travellers"
We gathered in Riga and met our fellow travellers from all over the world, and Ruta our driver and guide. First stop was Salaspils prison camp to hear the beating heart monument and see the enormous statues, then Rundale to see the gardens. We enjoyed lunch at a restaurant followed by a visit to the astonishing Hill of Crosses. We stopped at Kaunas, the second largest city in Lithuania, before arriving in Vilnius in the evening. Ruta was informative and entertaining, telling us lots about the history of the places we visited, and joining in the jokes and banter in the mini-bus. Well worth taking the time to travel on this tour. Can highly recommend this trip.
"Good tour"
This tour was as advertised and expected. The guide was good.
"Best way to travel to Vilnius "
Choosing this as an option to travel from riga to Vilnius was awesome. Comfortable small mini bus with many sight seeing stops along the way. Lunch at the restaurant we stopped at was very good. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant to be around. Even though it was raining, we had a great time and saw many sights we would not have seen otherwise.
"Absolutely Fantastic"
Overall, I can't recommend this enough! Ruta was a really amazing tour guide, with great knowledge of the locations in both Lithuania and Latvia. The Hill of Crosses, Rundale Palace and Salaspils were all incredible sites to visit, which would otherwise be hard to reach if you are just based in the capitals.
"Best way to get from Riga to Vilnius"
The tour is very well worked out. The huge sculptures at Salaspils are amazing, and you'll never see anything like the Hill of Crosses anywhere else in the world. Rundale was okay, but not particularly impressive after the palaces in St. Petersburg, and although it was nice to have a stop in Kaunas, it doesn't have the attractions of Vilnius. Ruta was very professional and a good driver
"Excellent tour and guide"
Very interesting way to travel from vilnius to riga.
"Vilnus to riga tour"
Rota was a great guide... great countryside view... Rundale Palace was beautiful and the hill of crosses impressuve..enjoyed every minute
"Excellent experience "
We had an excellent experience on the tour. Ruta is a very passionate and knowledgeable guide.
"A really beautiful day "
A very good mix of history and beautifulyl landscape ,palace ,trees and flowers. Of course our guide -driver Ruta was the best .
"Very good trip"
Good soluzione to move between the city. Very nice guide.
"Really great tour!"
A terrific way to get from Vilnius to Riga (or vice versa). Great value! Our guide Ruta was a great source of information for not only history but current conditions in the Baltics. Highly recommended!
"Great selection of sights - Wonderful tour leader"
When you are on your tour through the Baltic states and want to travel from capital to capital, the Sightseeing Bus is the right choice if you do not only want to get from A to B, but if you want to see more of the region, learn about the sites and meet other people (but not too many). Our tour from Vilnius to Riga was perfectly organised. The four sites to visit were quite different: a historic city center (Kaunas), a religious pilgrim place (hill of the crosses), a baroque palace (Rundale) and a memorial site (Salaspils). Entrance fees were included. Ruta was a good and safe driver. I liked her diverse taste for music and the variety of musical styles that we heard during the trip. What really makes her stand out as a tour guide (and we have seen many) is her anticipation of the guests' needs. She answers before the question arises. All explanations were clear and precise, and she explained a lot, always adding a humouros note. Her enthousiasm is great and covered all sites in both countries. Definintely recommend! The special gift at the end of the trip: a city map of Riga with recommendations written by locals. However, it is from last year and already partly outdated, as some of the described cafes no longer exist.
"Best option from Vilnius to Riga!"
While organizing our Baltic holidays we found out there are not many options to travel between Vilnius and Riga, and this tour probably is the best one! We could travel confortably and safely while visiting some interesting places we would have not be able to reach by ourselves (some of them we actually didn't even know of, like Salaspils Memorial which turned out to be our favourite one!). Ruta was a perfect guide and gave us all the basic infos about the places, without making it too long and boring. At first I wasn't really happy to find out Trakai was taken out of the tour, but now I can easily see it perfectly makes sense as it's very easy to visit by yourself, and would have taken too much time away to all the other places, which are a bit rushed already. Even if you're not a "social" person, the Van is large and confortable so you will have all the "personal space" you will need. My husband and I surely recomend this tour as the best way to move from Vilnius to Riga!
"A great way to travel"
Combining inter-city travelling, and rural sightseeing, is a great concept. We left Vilnius with Ruta at the wheel, and stopped at 4 very different places in rural Lithuania and Latvia. Ruta's knowledge and passion about her homeland made it an informative journey, and the group of 8 international travellers is enough to be comfortable. Highly recommend this trip.
"Best way to travel from Vilnius to Riga!"
This is such an enjoyable and efficient way to travel from Vilnius to Riga, getting to see sights off the cities which would have required separate day trips. Having a guide like Ruta was such a bonus too as she has such bright, positive and infectious energy (you can tell she absolutely loves her job and what she does!). I also liked that this mode of travelling was kept small but yet allowed us to get to know fellow travellers from other parts of the world. Glad we made the choice to travel this way!
"Very nice tour to Vilnius "
I can for sure recommend this tour. We saw very nice and interesting places on our way from Riga to Vilnius and got very good information on the way
"Interesting and good pace"
Rūta was a great guide too
"Excellent Tour but ¿is Latvia Still under Soviet Control,"
Ruta is an excellent tour guide. Our first stop was Salaspil, Latvia which was a Nazi camp. However, as we well know while the Soviets were building this Memorial Park, they (Stalin...Brezhnev) were shipping Latvians to Siberian Gulags. ¿Why haven't the Latvians built some Memorial here to all the Latvians that disappeared during the Communist Era. Or: ¿Is Latvia Still under Soviet Control?
"A great trip!"
It was a really rewarding experience,we got to see sights in both countries we wouldn't see on our own!The guide was very helpful, cheerful and gave us lots of useful and interesting information about the sights and monuments we saw.
"The best!"
Ruta was the best guide
"Excellent tour"
Rota is very nice and explains very clearly to us in every steps.
"Amazing! "
I took this tour from Vilnius to Riga. It was really interesting and well-organised. Overall, our guide, Ruta was fantastic! She was very kind, helpful and teacher us some very interesting things about all the places we saw and replied to all our questions! We were always in time, the trip was confortable and I loved to meet each other people! Once I'll return to Baltic States, I'll absolutely take this opportunity again to see what is a little bit far from the capitals. Thank you Traveller and thank you Ruta! See you on my next trip!
"Great way to get from Vilnius to Riga"
We were a group of five people from Argentina, Belgium, Brazil and Germany traveling with our guide Ruta from Vilnius to Riga. Ruta was a very knowledgeable guide, who was passionate about her home country and gave us los of interesting information on the history and culture of Lithuania and Latvia. She was very pleasant and friendly and always wore a smile on her face. The places we visited are not easy to reach if not by driving, so this was an excellent way to see places I probably would not have seen otherwise. At every stop, Ruta gave us an introduction to the history of the place and then gave us time to roam around and explore by ourselves.
"Good moment"
I loved Ruta. She is attentive, friendly and does her job very well. The tour is great, but I highlight the Ruinsdale Palace and the Soviet Monument. In the other hand, I just think lunch should be included in the price.
"Fantastic and fun!!!"
Rūta was our guide and she was exceptionally great-knowledgeable, accommodative and a good listener. We covered all the places from Vilnius to Riga journey as mentioned in the your. We left on time and reached our destination comfortably. It didn’t seem like a 12 hr journey even though it was! I highly recommend Rūta and her company.
"What a nice trip "
We visited Salaspils memorial, Rundale castle, the hill of croses and Kaunas. Our guide Ruta was great. We had a little bit of free time at every stop. The tour lasted from 9am to 8 pm.
"Raccomando questo transfer"
Abbiamo trovato il viaggio estremamente interessante per i luoghi visitati, mancava forse una mezz'oretta a Kaunas. Estremamente piacevole e gentile anche la nostra accompagnatrice Ruta!!!

"A fruitful tour"
Our tour guide, Ruta, is very knowledgeable, she is friendly. And I and my family really enjoyed the trip. At each stop, she told us about the history of the place clearly. The places we visited are very good, hard to access by ourselves. Many thanks go to Ruta.

"Fantastic day tour!"
I had an awesome time doing this tour and I fully recommend it. Our guide Rūta was highly competent and shared a lot of historical facts with great passion. She also took care of every detail: music playlist, food suggestions, questions and responsable driving, always with a big smile. The hill of crosses, the Rundāle palace and the memorial monument were definitely the highlights for me, but highly unreachable by public transportation as they are in the middle of nowhere. So this is definitely a great option to get yourself from Vilnius to Riga without missing these interesting places.
"Great trip"
Wonderful journey. Rūta the guide was wonderful. Provided all the help you could wish, with a great personality. The stops were diverse and interesting and lunch was very nice. I would recommend this as an opportunity to see a little of the countryside on the way to Vilnius.
"Is a good way to get reelevant places"
The concept is a great idea, yu travel from city to another and in the middles you visit reelevant touristic and historical sites. The tour guide is very knowledgeable, but as she is driving too. I think what is missing is to explain more of Riga and Vilinios cities when you leave and when you arrive. because when we arrive to ilnius there was no expanation about the city at all, at leas some ideas of where to go and what to visit would be helpful.
"Rain day, wonderful and short day."
Good experience, but may be would better if we had been 30 minutes more in kaunas. We arrived to Vilnius al 8:17 and the visit was from 9AM to 9 PM. It was a shame the rain in the hill of crosses
"Great way to squeeze in a few more sights"
This was a great way to see some sights that are farther away from Vilnius and Riga. The van was spacious and comfortable, the group was intimate, and Rūta was a wonderful tour guide. She knew tons of history, and it was fascinating to hear her thoughts on the contemporary political situation in Lithuania. She was well informed and thoughtful. I do wish we had eaten lunch in Kaunas instead of near the Hill of Crosses. We didn't have as much time in Kaunus as I would have liked, and the restaurant near the Hill of Crosses was mediocre. Other than that, I felt the tour was well planned and paced. There was plenty of time at the Hill of Crosses and Salaspils, and though I could have spent a long time both in Kaunas and at Rūndale Palace (interesting gardens!), we would have been exhausted had the tour been longer than 12 hours.
"Great tour"
It was a great tour. The only criticism is that I wish we had less time at the Hill of Crosses and more time in Kaunus.
"Baltic blitzkrieg "
Great way to travel and see country. I think a stop a a Jewish concentration camp rather than the Salaspils would be better
"Great journey from Riga to Vilnius"
Perfect balance between the time spent in the van and the visits. A prefect way to discover cities and sightseeing’s between the two capitals. Our guide was super nice and knowledgeable about the history of the Baltic countries. She responded to all our questions.
"The best way to get from Vilnius to Riga - saw a lot!"
This was a great way to get between the two cities and see some sites which would be very diffcult to get to otherwise. I feel like the tour could have started at 8am to given more time in Kaunas and to arrive at lunch earlier (our trip didnt have lunch until after 3pm due to normal lunch stop having a private function but it would have been 2pm anyway) Also, I think arriving at Rundale palace with enough time before the inside closed would give people the option to pay extra to tour inside and not just see the gardens (which were lovely). Not as much time needed at hill of crosses (stop, a few pics and away you go) or the Salaspils. Our guide was fun and very accomodating. Thanks Ruta!
"Unique way to get a flavor of out of the city life"
Polite and very sociable guide and good dancer too
"Great way to explore more of the Baltics"
We really enjoyed our experience on the Vilnius-Riga sightseeing tour. It brings you to places you wouldn't have known about or had the opportunity to see otherwise, and gives great insight into the history and stories of Latvia and Lithuania. Ruta was a very warm, enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide, and always kept our experience as the top priority. The journey in the minibus was very comfortable and the stops were broken up nicely so it flew by very quickly. Nice way to spend the day!
"excellent formula for travelling from Vilnius to Riga"
Great day-trip linking Vilnius to Riga while enjoying the countryside and several great places on the way. Very friendly and knowledgeable young guide, full of enthusiasm and love of her job and country! I can warmly recommend this!
"Un viaggio indimenticabile"
Ruta la nostra guida, una ragazza solare prepara ed attenta a tutte le tue esigenze. Un tour che consiglio vivamente di fare specialmente se è anche un trasferimento da una città all'altra.
"Best way to travel between Vilnius and Riga"
This tour was an ideal way to get from Vilnius to Riga and also to see four places that I would probably not have seen otherwise. The charming old town of Kaunas and the incredible and moving Hill of Crosses were the first two stops in Lithuania. The grand and immaculate Rundāle Palace and the very sobering Salaspils Memorial were the two Latvian stops. There was plenty of variety in the day and the group of six people (from Australia, Hong Kong and South Africa) moved at a reasonable pace and did not feel rushed at any stage. The guide, Ruta, is a safe driver and a source of much knowledge - she made the day very memorable.
"Relaxing trip to Riga"
I loved how easy it was to travel from Vilnus to Riga. The pace of the trip was relaxing and the stops along the way made the trip interesting. Our guide Ruta did a fabulous job of explaining the history of the area with lots of enthusiasm.
"Enjoyable Tour"
A very well arranged tour with well chosen stopping points. 12 hours whizzed by! Punctual start with Ruta, a delightful young lady. Nothing was too much, the explanations were very clear and she shared a lot of details and held our interest throughout the tour. She was very patient and an excellent guide.Very comfortable bus.
"Great tour and great guide!"
Great experience! We did the private tour with Ruta as our guide and she was fab. Took the time we wanted to stop and see what we wanted plus some suggestions from her
"Such a memorable trip!"
I can't think of a better way to get from Vilnius to Riga than this. We travelled with ano interesting group and had the opportunity to see places we would never have seen on an ordinary bus or train. Learned a lot about Lithuania and Latvia on the way too.
